For this weeks blog I am writing about the
new exhibit that just opened up at the Israel Museum on March 11, 2014. The
exhibit is called Dress Codes. The article talks about the Jewish Wardrobe and
it’s origins, from all around the world.
The article mostly covers the things that you will see in the museum
such as woman’s clothing from central Asia, and how the influence of western
culture influenced fashion. Today I had the opportunity to go to the Israel
Museum and see the exhibit first hand. I was amazed how beautiful and well
treated the clothes were after so many years. I was in aw of the amazing
colours that were used in each piece. I
thought the most interesting fact I learned today was about the Little woman
and little man clothing, the clothing that the children worn were miniature
versions of what the adults wore because children in traditional society’s were
considered adults in the making from an early age. I personally love fashion
and always find it so interesting to see how fashion changes over generation.
